I was driving by Saint Laurent River in Montreal years ago, listening to a class about the origin of life. It started explaining how everything was contained in the oneness, how everything was just pure light.
It's interesting, at least for me, when I listen to ancient wisdom - if I try to understand with the mind alone, nothing really makes sense. As I was driving, I was trying to picture the whole universe contained in one ball of light.
And then the light decided that it had to experience itself. As being one, it didn't have a sense of self. So the recipient got created.
The before one was now two, so now the light could experience itself through the recently created recipient.
I literally pictured one ball of light and a cup made of transparent glass in front of the ball, then the light was pouring itself into the cup, and now it could watch itself from outside the cup.
I sat with that class for a couple of days, without fully understanding its meaning, but feeling that there was a profound message for me in that teaching. I could feel already that we are all light, in my own ways - this is how I experience myself in meditation.
But the recipient part, it wasn't clicking, until it did.
I am sure there is way more wisdom to that class than what I could absorb, but it did explain to me my urge to serve and help.
If you think about it, this desire to help others is so innate, so natural. Being blessed to work with people desiring to do what it takes to share their gifts, we hear from people very often, "I want to help others..."
And in this story, it became clear to me that we were made to give.
As Pablo Picasso said:
"The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away."
In my opinion, we came here to find what expands our heart and from that expanded state help others to expand their hearts too. Sometimes you want to help others because you found a solution for your own struggle, and the expansion comes from that. Often contractions in life will be our greatest gifts and we will find in that ways to help others overcome hard situations.
That explained my desire to start a business of my own, and to share something with others that I was actually doing for myself, which was what had healed my headaches.
The urge to give isn't just a nice feeling - it's our deepest nature calling us home.
For me, this is the essence of service, and this is how I relate to service as a fundamental frequency of a sacred business.
The Harmony Map assessment was created by Phil and I, it was created to honor business in its wholeness - because your gift is meant to be shared.
If you're not familiar with the Harmony Map, I encourage you to take the assessment here. What I love most is seeing your business as an essential part of your evolution. If you pause, you will see how much your business, or even the desire to have one, is a calling to connect with the deepest parts of you.
Here's what's beautiful about the Harmony Map results: when you score low in certain frequencies, it's not a failure or something to fix. It's an invitation that life is extending to you through your business for your process of evolution.
It's showing you exactly how your business is calling you to see your gifts more powerfully and fully, to step up your ability to reach out to the people who actually need what you have to share.
Today I want to go deeper into the frequency of service, as it is the frequency we will be working through throughout the month of June.
Service represents our ability to align your heart's calling with meaningful impact for others. It's where you connect what you love, what you know how to do well, what you're qualified to do, and how you offer that to people who actually need what you have.
But here's where it gets beautiful - service isn't just about what you do, it's about remembering that you are light expressing itself through giving.
One of the biggest struggles I see with people who come to us is lack of clarity in how they communicate what they do - how they position themselves so people can actually find them.
Think of it this way: You're like a lighthouse with a brilliant, powerful beam. You have this incredible light to offer ships that are lost at sea. But your light is either hidden under a cover, or it's spinning in all directions instead of shining clearly toward the ships that need exactly what you provide. The ships are out there desperately needing your guidance, but they can't find you in the darkness.
You've forgotten that you ARE the light.
The imbalance in the service frequency reveals where you've disconnected from your true nature as a divine giver.
This disconnection could reveal childhood patterns of having your unique qualities dismissed or criticized, deep belief that your natural gifts aren't valuable enough to charge for, maybe you learned to survive by adapting to what others needed from you, belief that "true service" should be free or sacrificial, fear that specializing means missing out on opportunities, past trauma around abandonment when you showed your true self, or waiting for external validation before claiming your divine right to give your gifts.
All of these patterns will manifest in very practical ways in your business. Your website or bio reads like a laundry list of services because you don't want to "limit" yourself. You attract clients who aren't quite the right fit, leading to projects that drain rather than energize you. You know you can help people, but you're unclear about your specific transformation.
People leave conversations with you feeling inspired but confused about next steps. You attract price shoppers rather than people invested in transformation.
These are all symptoms of having forgotten your true nature as light itself.
So my question to you is: Are you allowing your business challenges to serve your evolution? Are you accepting what life is inviting you to become? Or are you fixed in your opinions about how marketing should be? Or how much you hate refining your message or building a strategy for how you're going to serve?
There is no right or wrong, and this is not about one path being the right path. But look at the stories you are telling yourself about why things are not working or why you haven't achieved the success you're aiming for, and more than that, why you are not helping the people you know you can help?
It's not because there is something wrong with your gifts. It might just be that you are not accepting life's invitation to become the light recipient you already are, and you keep separating yourself from your own essence.
When you fight too much for ways that are not working because you judge how others are doing, you might be limiting your service. If you could look with fresh eyes to how you serve and become the vessel for the universe to experience itself in the beauty of what you hold in your heart, how would you talk about what you do to help others?
My invitation: if you know deep in your heart you can help others and serve the world from your experience and talents, now it's time to invest in structure.
Your essence is already flowing, but excess of essence without structure leads to splattered energy, and the desire to help many turns into the reality of helping none.
It’s the hard work of building a foundation that very few are willing to do.
With Love,
Carolina
