Flush bank account, empty tank

A business that costs you your health isn't a success yet.

Service as it relates to business, generally gets talked about as something that you offer outward to the world.

What you give. Who you help. How you show up.

But there’s a second way of relating, and a question that I believe is worth asking:

How is this business serving you?

Your health. The hours you keep. Who you get to spend your precious time with.

I’m sure we can all think of people we’ve met in our life that have built something that looks really good on paper, and yet - when you look at who they had to become or what they had to sacrifice to get there - we say to our selves “wow, no thanks!”. Maybe you’ve even been in this situation yourself. The bank account is flush. The body is running on fumes. Relationships are struggling under the weight of the effort. And the default tendency that the world supports is to keep going, because we are taught that the hard part comes first and then we get to earn the right to a good life that will come later.

That seems to be the deal we’ve all unconsciously agreed to at some point along the way.

So we examine this foundational aspect of Sacred Business early with our clients, before any offer creation, before we look at pricing, before we look at growth tactics.

What do you want this business to offer back to you for it to be worth building?

Because if you don’t answer that, life and the world will answer it for you.

And in my experience, the default of this answers it pretty badley.

A business that costs you your health, your presence, your aliveness, that’s not a true success. I don’t care what the numbers say.
