024: Right on time!
It was my turn to share. I felt I was on top of my game! I was so confident and sure about myself. My ego was in check (or so I thought).
So, I stated, "I've decided I don't need someone to help me with my marketing strategy, and I actually don't even like social media.
Why would I go there and do all the stuff that everybody is doing when it feels so empty to me? I'm fine the way I am, and my business is doing great."
I had been running my business my way, and it had been working. I didn’t feel any need to get outside help.
This conversation unfolded during a mastermind session with “The Midwives of Transformation” , a group of four powerful women that I’m a part of where we support each other on our personal and business journeys.
During my share, I could sense my need to feel right and my desperate attempt to reassure myself that "I've got this."
Choosing not to change was my way of validating my need for being “right”.
Why?
Because, in reality, I had no clue what to do; I had no idea what I really needed. I was frustrated and overwhelmed by all my thoughts and feelings of self-doubt.
A couple of days later, I was in my home office planning for the week ahead, and feeling a bit overwhelmed as I looked at my calendar for the upcoming week.
While I had a nice full schedule of client sessions coming up, I realized I was completely lost as to how to move beyond the limitations of doing individual sessions from the poolside yoga shala where I spent the majority of my days.
While I felt very confident in my ability to support my clients in getting great results using the bioenergetic techniques I had spent many years perfecting, I was confronted by the fact that I had no idea how to build a business that would afford me the lifestyle that I had quit my corporate job in search of in the first place.
I was essentially trading my time for dollars, and quickly falling back into the exact patterns of a 9-5 existence that I had worked so hard to escape in Montreal. It was incredibly difficult for me to face the discomfort of realizing that my business was not the success I had dreamed of.
In addition to working a schedule that wasn’t aligned with my desires, the money that I was bringing in doing these sessions did not leave me with enough left after all my bills were paid to support making investments in my continued growth, or to plan exciting adventures to places that I had always dreamed of visiting like Machu Picchu and Bali.
I felt like a failure.
As I began to see the truth of what I had been unwilling to admit for many months of struggling through my days, I realized that my arrogance and toxic pride was holding me back from being willing to admit that I needed help.
It took a long time for me to reach this level of honesty with myself, but once I recognized my own limitations, it became painfully clear that I NEEDED to change.
When you have a moment like this, you can’t unsee the truth of what you have been pushing under the rug.
I had been avoiding change at all costs.
After this profound recognition, I decided I needed to take action.
The pain and the idea of staying where I had found myself was so intense that I immediately made a commitment to myself to do whatever was necessary to create the business of my dreams, on my terms.
For this, I needed help.
I knew I would have to do things I had never done before, which would take me out of my comfort zone.
But I decided with my whole being to follow through with whatever was necessary, no matter what.
It was scary, but at the same time, I felt hopeful and excited about my decision.
Once you make a decision like this, you can't delay taking action. To overcome fear, immediate action is required - and that's exactly what I did.
I was already somewhat familiar with Phil's work, and many of the well-known clients he had helped grow their businesses. When I scheduled my meeting with him, I knew I would have to agree, even when he quoted a price that was extremely uncomfortable for me.
(This was before I strong-armed him into starting a business with me lol …)
However, if you desire different results, you need to take different actions.
I felt that he could genuinely assist me.
We soon began working together, leading to a complete redesign of my business. This transformation did not occur overnight; it was a gradual process requiring the acquisition of new skills and increased support.
I was reminded once again that seeking help is truly an act of courage.
Your ego is what fights against your limitations, when you find yourself repeatedly doing the same things and expecting different results. It is your ego that leads you to make poor decisions or procrastinate until the last minute before seeking help. This energy can keep you from realizing your true potential and achieving the success that awaits you.
I am glad I asked for Phil’s help right on time.
It's clear in my head that if I had resisted getting help for even a few more months, my business would have been further entrenched in a model that was not supporting my goals, and it would have been even harder for me to get the support I needed.
If you are feeling lost or unclear about what’s next in your own business, I urge you to be brave and courageous.
Don’t keep the toxic pride alive. Ask for help while you can.
Your future self will thank you.
With Love,
Carolina

THE GROSS GLOBAL HAPPINESS SUMMIT
It's my belief that we pursue our goals because we associate happiness with achievement. But what if happiness isn't tied to any specific outcome, and we could learn to be happy regardless of our accomplishments?
This event is a wonderful opportunity to engage in this kind of discussion with people from all over the world. If possible, I encourage you to check it out. Information about online attendance has not yet been released, but it seems likely that it will be available soon.
Alternatively, this could be an excellent reason to visit Costa Rica. If you decide to come, please reach out to us; we would love to meet you. Our Soul Wave Studio is located just across the street from the event venue.

Who We Are Celebrating This Week: Meghan Mann:)
Meghan is a dear friend and an extremely intuitive and sensitive person. She is a mom, a wife, and a powerful woman and coach who helps artists, agents, and industry leaders unlock their intuition and pave their unique path.
She is also the creator of a gorgeous deck called Simple Shifts. She believes that change is a ritual that needs to be practiced daily, and I couldn't agree more. It's through small changes that we achieve big goals. This deck can guide you in implementing simple shifts in your daily routine and help you connect more with your intuition.
Here's What I Want to Share This Week:
Movement does magic.
Moving my body has always been a great tool for me. It helps me when I need to move energy around, require healing or releasing, feel stuck in my mind, or want to celebrate.
Involving your body in different ways is an invitation to bring more of your essence to the situation. Don't let your mind try to figure it all out alone; you can get pretty stuck. So, in this topic of help, perhaps notice how your body feels if you could get all the help in the world, all the support you need and even more.
Imagine having help with your house and kids, your health, your physical goals, your business and any other thing you might need support with. Sit down, imagine how amazing it would be, and allow your body to feel the power of support.Once you feel it, choose a nice selection of music and move.
Here is a playlist I found, with some pretty cool songs! There is so much healing in movement.
