104: Die Before You Die
The untold cost of becoming the one who can hold your Sacred Business.
Creating your business is more than manifesting clients, revenue, or opportunities. It’s the deepest invitation to become someone new.
The moment you step into a Sacred Business, the very identity you’ve been living from will be challenged, stretched, and rewritten. Not because you’re broken — but because your old self wasn’t designed to hold what your vision is asking for.
We always say to clients, the biggest challenge is not executing the plan but becoming the person who has a successful business and have the ability to execute the plan.
And to be clear — success is not only outer achievements, but the inner experience of deep fulfillment.
If you are choosing the path of creating or expanding your Sacred Business, serving from your heart, I want to tell you, you are brave. It takes so much courage. This path will bring to the surface what you’ve kept hidden for so long.
We don’t sabotage ourselves consciously. It’s the subconscious mind protecting us from feeling the emotions we once buried because they were too painful.
Think about what this really means:
To sit with the tension of talking to your family about a new business when they hold expectations, pride, and ideas of who you should be.
To heal old wounds, transform pain into wisdom, and then share those stories openly — risking that the very people who lived those moments with you will read them.
To finally stop chasing approval from the one person whose love you wanted most, even if it means being disapproved or rejected by them.
It is stepping out of the safe identity your co-workers have known for years, and showing sides of yourself that might leave them thinking you are different, maybe even crazy.
It is revisiting trauma, not to stay in it, but to extract the wisdom that was buried there.
It is allowing yourself to become an authority in something no diploma ever gave you permission to claim.
This is where impostor syndrome shows up, whispering that you need authorization to lead, when in truth there is no external permission slip for a Sacred Business.
It means feeling the sting of rejection, choosing what those you love may not agree with, and risking that they’ll see your path as harmful.
It means stepping away from titles and expertise, and daring to speak about the invisible in front of people who once admired you for being concrete and predictable.
It even means facing the fear of losing your current income — the thought that if you share your true values openly, your company might no longer want you there.
That standing for what matters to you could cost you your job, your stability, your security.
It is learning to create consistently — emails, posts, videos — without being asked, and often without being seen. It feels strange, almost wasteful, to give so much when no one is clapping yet.
It is losing the language you once shared with friends or colleagues. Sitting across the table from your mom or dad and realizing there is nothing left to talk about the way you used to.
Coming home to your partner and feeling unseen, like the person you’re becoming no longer matches the one they knew. Sometimes relationships reconfigure and deepen. Sometimes they dissolve entirely.
The conversations you once relied on disappear, and silence takes their place.
It is becoming the stranger in your own family container. Setting boundaries where you were trained to say yes. Trusting your body and your feelings in ways that contradict everything you were taught.
It is choosing uncertainty — financially, socially, spiritually — instead of the structures that once defined your stability. Sometimes it even means reducing what you once called basic needs to make space for what is being born.
I think of a client who told us: “I have been gestating this business for years.” She lived in a cycle of reframing and waiting. She stayed off social media, always preparing, never ready. She said clarity wasn’t there, her audience didn’t accept her new message, her offers felt blurry.
But under all of it was one thing: the fear of being seen by her family as someone who believes in work that feels “too much,” too crazy, too far from who they expected her to be.
This is what it means to die before you die.
The shift in identity rearranges everything: your closest friends, your routines, the places you go, the way you speak.
Some of what you lose will be things you disliked, but some will be the parts that gave you safety. Loneliness, rejection, misunderstanding, feeling lost, crazy, angry — all of these visit you.
And once you stop avoiding them, once you go all in, a death occurs.
Your Sacred Business needs to feel you. All of you.
It is asking you to live closer to your essence than to the requirements of society.
And even though we say we want this, only the ones walking the path know the truth: it is not easy. It is scary. But on the other side of this death, you don’t just have a truly successful business.
You discover the version of you that was always waiting.
With Love,
Carolina

Here is what I want to share this week …
You might be more ready to write a book than you think.
This past week, our network had the opportunity to experience something truly special – a live workshop with the incredible Dr. Cindy Childress. She’s a ghostwriter who leads the A-List Author Studio, where experts write and launch books that become bestsellers and book award winners.
The topic? “You might be more ready to write a book than you think.”
Writing a book has been on my bucket list for years, without any attachment to what I’d actually write about. I’ve always sensed that what it takes to write a book would invite me into a powerful transformation – the kind that demands commitment, focus, and a new relationship with my own authority.
Cindy helped me think about books in completely different ways. She talked about considering who you want to write to and the main theme you want to share. But here’s what really lit something up in me: she said to “start reading as a writer,” which is totally different from reading as a reader.
When you read as a writer, you notice what you like, what you don’t, and how you might want to approach your own book. It’s like studying the craft while consuming the art.
Phil and I have been talking about this idea for some time. Even though I don’t know the exact timeline, Cindy definitely got me excited. And I could tell she sparked something in other network members too.
She has this awesome Bestselling Author Personality quiz – check it out if you’re curious about discovering your unique path to becoming a bestselling author.
I love the idea of contemplating writing a book, even if it’s not on your short-term list. It’s such an expansive way of thinking that opens your imagination to more goodness you can create in this world.
But maybe writing a book IS on your short-term list. If it is, you want the right support and guidance so you don’t mess up such an incredible adventure you’re ready to take on.
If that’s you, maybe Cindy is exactly the person you’ve been waiting for.
This is what we do at our Sacred Business Network – we wonder, we connect, and we step powerfully into possibilities!!!
