The Hidden Cost of AI-Driven Business Advice
Want to know the most dangerous thing in your business right now?
Want to know the most dangerous thing in your business right now?
It's not your competition …
It's not the economy …
It's not even your self-doubt.
It's the illusion of wisdom that comes from asking AI to solve your most challenging business issues, as your first step.
Here's what I witnessed recently:
A pretty seasoned entrepreneur sat down to research his market. First stop? ChatGPT.
✅ Ask the oracle.
✅ Get the answers.
✅ Check the boxes.
✅ Move forward.
Seems logical, right?
Except...
With each perfectly formatted response, each neatly bulleted list of "insights," something vital was getting lost.
His inner knowing.
His lived experience.
His unique lens on the world.
Everything that makes his work uniquely his.
Let me be clear: I'm not anti-AI. (I'd be a fool to ignore its power.) I use it literally day for a growing list of tasks. But I've watched too many aspiring entrepreneurs outsource their discernment to algorithms.
They ask ChatGPT about their ideal client instead of listening to their gut.
They let AI write their voice instead of finding their own.
They seek market validation from machines instead of actual humans with beating hearts.
Here's what I believe: The application of your greatest gifts and who you are meant to serve will not be determined by artificial intelligence.
It will come from lived experience. It will come from that quiet voice inside that knows exactly what needs to be said.
Want proof?
Think about the last time you were deeply moved by someone's work. The last time a business truly touched your heart. The last time you felt truly seen by someone's message.
I bet it wasn't AI-generated.
Because AI can simulate wisdom, but it can't create it. It can aggregate information, but it can't generate insight. It can process patterns, but it can't connect you with that which is seeking you.
Only you can do that.
So trust this: Your most powerful ideas are already within you.
They're in the challenges you've overcome. They're in the transformations you've witnessed. They're in the wisdom you've earned through living.
No algorithm can replicate that.
So here's my invitation:
Before you ask AI for the answer, ask yourself:
What do I already know about this?
What has my experience taught me?
What does my heart say about this?
Use AI as a tool, not a crutch. Use it to enhance your wisdom, not replace it. Use it to support your vision, not define it.
Because here's the truth: The world doesn't need more AI-generated businesses. There will be plenty of those and…
The world also needs your voice. Your wisdom. Your unique medicine.
Everything else is just noise.
With love,
Phil

And honestly it’s the same with how people often relate to coaches and consultants they hire - people outsource their own discernment far too often in that context too but with ai it’s like instant gratification
This is an excellent reminder that your best advice and answers lie within yourself. No one, and no AI, knows you as well as yourself and no one has your best interests at heart as much as yourself.
