082: The power of celebration: why small wins matter more than you think
The secret to sustaining momentum when your initial excitement fades
It happened again this week.
I was on a call with a client who had just experienced a major breakthrough. He'd participated in an industry event where he absolutely shined – people sought him out, recognized his unique value, and he beautifully felt the importance and uniqueness of what he's offering to the world.
When I asked, "Did you take time to celebrate this win?" he looked surprised.
"Celebrate? No... What do you mean, take my wife out for dinner?"
That moment made me reflect about something that have been on my mind lately: how easily we rush past our victories, no matter how meaningful they are.
The truth is, celebration isn't just a nice-to-have – it's essential fuel for your journey, especially when you're creating something new.
Think about it. When you first have an idea, that initial excitement carries you. You're flying high on inspiration alone – you don't need to overthink or push yourself because that natural enthusiasm does the work for you.
But what happens when you move into the practicalities? When you start dealing with the day-to-day reality of bringing your vision to life?
That's when the magic can fade. The connection to your original "yes" starts to weaken. The hardship of the path can wear you down – because for a while, you might not see tangible results.
It reminds me of the Chinese bamboo story. The bamboo seed stays underground for years – being watered, nurtured, but showing no visible growth. Then suddenly, it erupts upward, growing 80 feet in just six weeks.
But those invisible years? That's where most people give up.
This is exactly why celebration matters so deeply. When you take time to acknowledge each small step forward, you're creating something powerful in your nervous system.
You're literally changing your brain chemistry.
Celebration triggers the release of serotonin and oxytocin – neurochemicals that not only feel good but help create a sense of belonging and connection. When you're in that transition space of outgrowing your old life but not yet fully established in your new one, these moments of celebration can ground you.
They remind you: I belong here. I'm on the right path.
And there's something even more profound happening when we celebrate: we're opening ourselves to divine connection.
Have you noticed how celebration naturally puts you in a state of presence? When you genuinely pause to honor a win – even a small one – you're fully in the moment. That presence is the doorway to experiencing the divine in your everyday life.
As you celebrate your steps along your path, you increase your ability to recognize the sacred thread weaving through all things. The universe speaks to us in the language of joy, of recognition, of gratitude – all elements of true celebration.
Each time you acknowledge your growth, you're saying to the universe: "I see you working through me. I recognize this co-creation."
And you don't need anyone else to create this for you. While celebrating with others is wonderful, the most important thing is the intention behind it.
The benefits are profound:
Stress reduction – Shifting your focus away from stressors creates mental space for joy and relaxation
Reinforced positive behavior – What gets celebrated gets repeated
Boosted self-esteem – Instead of seeking external validation, you learn to validate yourself
Strengthened connections – Even simple celebrations foster deeper bonds with others
Cultivated gratitude – Recognizing progress helps you appreciate how far you've come
Reduced anxiety – Celebration interrupts worry patterns
Built emotional resilience – Each acknowledged win builds your capacity to face challenges
Enhanced divine connection – Celebration opens your awareness to the sacred in everyday life
Phil and I realized this recently when we sat down to list our wins from the past months. We were shocked by how many significant achievements we initially couldn't remember – clear evidence we weren't pausing enough to celebrate.
This lack of celebration doesn't just rob us of joy – it disconnects us from the divine flow that's always available to us. When we rush from achievement to achievement without honoring the journey, we miss the sacred breadcrumbs the universe is leaving for us.
So how do you celebrate effectively?
It doesn't have to be elaborate. You might:
Enjoy a special meal with intention
Create a physical memento of your achievement
Plan a simple activity you enjoy
Take a moment for conscious reflection
Share your win with someone who'll appreciate it
Write it down in a "victories journal"
Light a candle and offer gratitude for the divine support that brought you here
Spend time in nature, acknowledging how your path is part of something much larger
The key isn't what you do – it's the deliberate pause to acknowledge what's working.
Don't wait for the massive milestones. The most powerful celebrations recognize the everyday victories that others might not even see.
These small moments of recognition are like tuning forks – they align you with the frequency of the divine. When you celebrate, you're saying "yes" to life, and life responds by saying "yes" to you.
And remember what Abraham Hicks reminds us: life is supposed to be fun.
Celebration brings that element of joy back into the journey.
The more you celebrate life, the more life gives you reasons to celebrate.
The more you acknowledge divine connection in your celebrations, the more that connection reveals itself in everything around you.
So I'll ask you what I asked my client: Are you celebrating enough?
Even if you think you are, I bet it's not enough to recognize all the beauty, all the blessings, all the small victories already present in your life.
Look back five or ten years – perhaps what you're living today is exactly what you once dreamed of. That recognition alone deserves a toast, don't you think?
With Love,
Carolina
Happenings
This week is the deadline for our first Sacred Business Writers Collective Publication. I am very excited for this as I know the power of a collective. Not only to increase visibility but for deeper connections as well.
This first month we chose the theme of abundance, which is always connected to what we work on in our embodiment classes. It's also the theme that will guide our Social Mixer calls for our Network.
An abundance mindset is the foundation for a successful project. Whether it's a new business, expanding an existing one, or even a project you're doing more for fun - you want to make sure you're stepping powerfully into your new venture feeling that the universe is playing with you, co-creating with you.
We often start projects from a place of scarcity and fear, and even though I still believe every move is valid, it could make the process more painful than it needs to be.
We will be selecting 5 essays to be featured and cross-posting with everyone selected. Through this meaningful connection, we expose your work to other people's audiences. And as we don't believe in competition - because everyone has their own energetic signature and will attract the people that can benefit from their own energy - this is just a big win-win for all participants.
The only way to participate right now is by enrolling in the Network - for more info you can click here. Our Sacred Growth Club members also have access, but until July, those enrollments are closed.
The submission deadline is April 14th! Don't miss this opportunity to share your perspective on abundance
Here is what I want to share this week …
Practice You Deck by Elena Brower
As I celebrate
, I want to share one of her most beautiful gifts to the world: her gorgeous "Practice You - Daily Awakening Deck."Elena's approach is unique – she invites us to go back within, to feel, to use our bodies as sacred temples of connection.
Very often all you need is to place your hands on your heart, take a deep breath, and feel the love flowing from within.
The questions she poses are simple yet profoundly powerful. Sometimes it takes just one thoughtful question, a moment of contemplation, or a gentle movement of the body to unlock the wisdom, strength, and creativity that already lives inside us.
Not only are the practices beautifully designed, but the art on each card is uniquely calming – a visual meditation in itself.
Find it here: Practice You Daily Awakening Deck
Insight Timer App
Here's such a cool and simple app to help you stay consistent with your meditation practice! Sometimes all you need is a 5-minute guided session to sit and slow down.
As I once heard: the best meditation is the one you actually do. So no excuses – this app makes it easy to fit mindfulness into your day, wherever you are.

Who We Are Celebrating
Elena Brower
I want to celebrate Elena and her profound contributions to the world. Her writing is extremely inspiring – you can find her wisdom on her Substack at elenabrower.substack.com. I believe her business is a translation of how much she is connected to the divine in her.
Her energy, for me, is an invitation to peace, pause, and reflection. When I engage with her work, I'm gently guided to the present moment and reconnected with what truly matters. In a world that constantly pulls us in different directions, Elena's presence reminds us of the power of coming home to ourselves.
