Oh wow, I’m so grateful for this piece! You’re tackling such a tricky and confusing topic with so much clarity. I have a deep desire to serve others, but I also want to travel with my family, give generously, and create a beautiful home. Thank you for offering this perspective and helping untangle the feelings of false guilt!

Thanks Sarah-Frances! What I've come to believe is that when we create lives with enough abundance to travel, give generously, and create beautiful spaces, we actually show up as more powerful examples of what's possible. Your thriving isn't separate from your service - it's a crucial part of it.

I'd love to know what aspect of creating this balance feels most challenging for you right now?

Right now, the biggest challenge for me is trusting that I can create abundance MY way— aka in a way that feels aligned, spacious, and true to who I am. It’s easy to fall into old patterns of hustle or self-doubt, but I’m working on anchoring into the belief that success doesn’t have to come at the cost of peace...

This piece makes so much sense. For those of us who want to offer our gifts in meaningful service, we totally need to take care of our own needs first.

TOTALLY! I've found that the most effective service comes when we're not depleted or resentful, but rather energized and operating from overflow. This isn't selfish—it's actually the most responsible approach to serving others deeply and consistently.

For me personally, what I get stuck on has nothing to do with spirituality vs earning a living. I’m good with charging for my work but how much to charge and how to set prices when I want to make things more accessible for everyone is the dilemma. And figuring that out for myself and trying to listen to my own inner voice has been important. I’m slowly figuring out the solutions.🌻

Thank you for sharing this Mary! I love that you're listening to your inner voice on this. In my experience, when we truly tune in, we often discover that our right pricing isn't just about the money - it's about creating the right energy exchange that serves both you and your clients at the highest level.

Thanks for this excellent post. You tackled a touchy subject with eloquence. The way I see it, the more we have, the more we can give. When I owned my business, I could donate to many worthy causes, and my church tithes made a difference. Now that I'm retired, there isn't as much to share. I look forward to a fantastic career as a writer that replenishes those funds so I can give like I used to.
