The Three Circles of Connection: Finding Wholeness in a Fragmented World
The Hidden Power of Integrated Connection for Entrepreneurs
Have you ever noticed how we can feel disconnected even when surrounded by people? Or how success can feel empty without meaning behind it?
I've been thinking deeply about this concept of connection lately. At Sacred Business Flow, we've observed a pattern with the entrepreneurs we work with – despite their external success, many experience a profound sense of disconnection between their business activities and deeper purpose.
The paradox of our time is that we've never been more connected, yet never felt more disconnected.
Many of us, especially entrepreneurs, feel this disconnect acutely. We build businesses, create content, connect on social media – yet something essential seems missing. We sense there's a deeper integration waiting to be discovered.
This disconnect isn't just philosophical – it shows up as real challenges: burnout, decision fatigue, confusing marketing messages, and a nagging sense that despite external success, something fundamental is missing.
What if the path forward isn't about doing more but connecting more deeply? And what if there are three essential circles of connection we need to honor?
Connection to Self: The Foundation
The first circle begins with you.
In a world constantly pulling for our attention, we often lose touch with our own inner wisdom. We make decisions based on external validation rather than internal alignment. We chase strategies that worked for others instead of honoring our unique gifts.
Self-connection means developing awareness of your body, thoughts, emotions, and deepest values. It's about recognizing yourself in both light and shadow – seeing how the traits you dislike in others often reflect disowned parts of yourself. This level of self-awareness becomes crucial when making business decisions that affect not just your financial success, but your overall wellbeing.
I learned this lesson the hard way. When I left my first consulting business despite making over $100K monthly, it wasn't about the money – it was about recognizing the profound disconnect between my external success and my physical health. For years, I had ignored the warning signs my body was sending, pushing through exhaustion and stress in the name of achievement. This lack of self-connection eventually manifested as multiple autoimmune conditions and culminated in a golf ball-sized tumor in my neck. My body was literally forcing me to pay attention to what I had been ignoring.
This experience transformed how I approach business decisions. What would change if you approached your business from this place of deep self-connection? When your business becomes an authentic expression of your deepest self rather than something separate from it, marketing for example, ceases to be a struggle. It becomes simply sharing what naturally flows through you – your genuine passion, purpose, and wisdom.
Ask yourself: How often do I make business decisions that honor my body's wisdom, not just my mind's strategy?
Connection to Community: The Amplifier
The second circle extends beyond ourselves to others.
True community isn't networking or transactional relationships. It's finding your people – those who see your highest potential even when you can't see it yourself.
During my years of playing the "lone wolf" in business, I achieved financial success but at a tremendous cost to my health and wellbeing. It wasn't until I began connecting with teachers and mentors like
, , and Leo Babauta that I saw how community could transform both business and life.We aren't meant to build alone. Research shows entrepreneurs with strong support systems demonstrate significantly higher resilience during business challenges. Recent studies have found that entrepreneurs who receive greater support from mentors show significantly higher entrepreneurial resilience – the capacity to recover from setbacks. Notably, emotional support (empathy, encouragement, reassurance) has an even stronger positive effect on resilience than practical help (such as direct assistance with tasks, resources, or problem-solving).
True community doesn't just support you; it reflects back your highest potential. It creates a field of possibility larger than what any individual could hold alone.
Ask yourself: Do I have people who both support my vision and tell me the truth I need to hear?
Connection to Divine: The Expander
The third circle extends beyond human relationships to something greater.
Call it God, Universe, Source, or simply Life – this connection reminds us we're part of something larger. It helps us trust that our challenges aren't random obstacles but meaningful invitations to growth.
One of my mentors, Michael Singer, once said: "My formula for success was very simple: Do whatever is put in front of you with all your heart and soul without regard for personal results. Do the work as though it were given to you by the universe itself — because it was."
This perspective transformed how I viewed business challenges. The difficult client became a teacher of boundaries. The marketing block revealed where I needed to heal my relationship with visibility. The setback contained the seed of a breakthrough.
Connection to the divine transforms work from what you do to who you are. It helps you recognize that business challenges aren't just practical problems but spiritual invitations.
Studies have shown that entrepreneurs who maintain spiritual practices report measurably higher resilience during business challenges. Research published in Frontiers in Psychology found that a spiritual mindset can positively impact entrepreneurial success by helping business owners navigate difficulties with greater clarity and purpose through increased motivation and adaptability.
As billionaire investor Ray Dalio put it: "Meditation, more than anything in my life, was the biggest ingredient of whatever success I've had".
Ask yourself: How would my approach to challenges change if I saw them as divinely orchestrated opportunities rather than random setbacks?
The Sacred Intersection
The magic happens at the intersection of these three circles – where self-knowledge, community support, and divine trust converge.
This integration doesn't happen accidentally. It requires intention, practice, and often, guidance. When these three connections align, we experience what has been philosophically called "the marriage of sense and soul" – in this case, a state where business decisions feel both practical and sacred.
At Sacred Business Flow, we've observed that when entrepreneurs operate from this integrated space, not only do they experience greater financial success, but their work becomes a natural extension of their purpose. The separation between "business" and "spiritual life" dissolves into a unified expression.
In the space between these three circles of connection lies the sacred ground where your business becomes both personally fulfilling and profoundly impactful.
This integration isn't just a nice theory – it creates tangible results. Our community members who approach business through these three connections report not just greater financial success but a profound sense that their work is a natural extension of their purpose.
