Pay attention to your deepest dissatisfactions in life. They often turn into your biggest gifts.
I grew up as this lost person who had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up. As the time to choose a university got closer, that feeling of being lost and confused only increased. But now I was running out of time, according to what society expects, and I needed to choose something. I chose business management, because it felt generic enough for someone who had no clarity about her own passions and desires.
As I developed my career, a deep sense of dissatisfaction kept growing, and more and more questions came into my head. Is this it? Isn’t there any other way to live life? Why do I spend most of my precious hours doing something I don’t like?
Fast forward, I re-created a business that felt more aligned with myself, but still not aligned with the life I wanted. And the questions kept growing in my mind. I think the gift of all of that was my ability to remain curious and not accept the status quo as a final sentence.
People around me had businesses and careers that didn’t really contribute to a day-to-day they loved. It was more like, what do I do with the time I’m not working? Because while I’m working, I don’t get to choose much.
In my incessant wonder about life and my endless questions, I found my own way to create something that was truly aligned with what my heart wanted and how I wanted to experience life.
And out of all those questions, dissatisfactions and curiosity, Sacred Business was born.
Not as a goal to have an amazing business, but as a means to have an amazing life.
And for me, having an amazing life has to include an amazing business. But the order here truly matters.
So what is a Sacred Business, and why would you want one?
A Sacred Business is born out of the desire to have a life you wake up excited about. It’s a business that supports your relationships and your health, mental and physical. It’s a business that takes into consideration the life you want to live, and for that, it invites your passions and desires forward.
It’s unique in how you present your work, and it’s unique to how you design your life.
A Sacred Business evolves as you evolve. This business is a healing tool that keeps inviting you to heal your own limiting beliefs about yourself and about life. It includes healing your relationship with money.
Money doesn’t make your business sacred, but it makes it possible.
Maybe you see yourself in this too. The first part of my life, I built to survive. I did not know any better, and I left my own needs and desires at the bottom of my list. What I truly wanted was left to be experienced on my days off. In the second half of my life, what I truly want has to be at the center. It’s how I wake up every morning.
Your Sacred Business is not sacred because it’s better or more special than other businesses. I hold the belief that every business has the potential to be sacred, as long as it takes into consideration your values, your needs and your desires, and supports the everyday life you want to experience.
It’s your right to choose what you want to build, and to feel really good about doing so.
You did not come here to survive. You came here to thrive.
So my question to you is: if you could have the life of your dreams, and you can, what would it look like?
