WOM 023: THE POWER OF SIMPLE THINGS
The Way of Mastery For Business Series | Day 22 | October 24th, 2025
“Only in simplicity can the heart hear the voice of God.” – Jeshua
Lately I’ve been thinking about how complexity creeps in when faith is on short supply.
In business, it shows up as extra offers, new projects, or strategies piled on top of strategies. We call it innovation or “being a creative”, but often it’s fear wearing a clever disguise.
I’ve noticed this in myself. When results feel slow, my mind starts reaching — what can we launch next, what can we tweak, what will prove we’re on the right path? Underneath that grasping lives a quiet doubt: maybe the core of what I offer isn’t enough.
That same pattern showed up recently in our Writers Collective. It began as a beautiful vision — a shared publication where our community could amplify each other’s work. But soon the energy shifted. We found ourselves chasing contributors, tracking deadlines, pushing pieces forward. What began as service became a pull on our energy.
When we finally paused, the truth was simple: we were trying to make something move that wanted to rest. Letting the format go opened space again. The energy that had been tangled in management flowed back into creation.
This week, we met with a potential client exploring confidence. He carried a lifetime of credentials and achievements, yet what he longed for was something deeper — a confidence that didn’t come from proof, but from presence. As he spoke, I saw my own reflection. Inner confidence is born when we remember that our worth is not something to earn.
That’s when simplicity becomes power.
When you stop performing for validation, your work returns to its essence.
When you trust what you already know, you need less strategy and more stillness.
When you rest in the truth that what is real cannot be lost, everything unnecessary falls away.
Simplicity isn’t the absence of ambition. It’s the alignment of will with love. From that place, every act becomes enough.
Reflect
Where are you adding layers that dilute the purity of your service?
What would it look like to trust that what you’ve already built is enough for now?
How might simplicity become your next act of faith?
