Truth!

Sometimes people keep repeating familiar patterns even after their external circumstances change. Expansion can really feel destabilizing when identity is built around survival strategies that once worked.

The nervous system prioritizes predictability over growth, even when growth is wanted and learning to tolerate unfamiliar internal states can be a slower process than adopting new goals or structures.

Yes! Our nervous systems are wired for predictability, often clinging to familiar patterns even when they no longer serve us. This makes expansion feel destabilizing, especially when our identities are rooted in survival strategies from our past. The journey of growth involves not just adopting new goals but cultivating the capacity to be with unfamiliar internal states. This is at the heart of the work we do, integrating somatic wisdom to help individuals navigate and embrace these transitions.

Thank you so much for sharing. 🩷 Really helpful. One of the things I'm afraid of is ... I can tell from this comment I'm making, as I go to write it, this isn't right for me yet. I'll DM you x
