Thanks Phil, this is such a great post. If I'm honest about the point where structure starts to hinder me, it's where I become obsessed with following the framework rather than using it as a way to scaffold my creativity. At that point, I know that I need to either revisit the structure or break free from it entirely.

I like that. I like to think of the structures as sort of like anchors or buoys, right? Like imagine you're out to sea and you're in the infinite ocean. You can go out and you can swim and enjoy, but then you've got these anchors or buoys to come rest on and stop working so hard with your own energy. there's something about structure that can be incredibly restful. I don't think that people see it this way often, but it's a place to come back and rest when you're tired of swimming laps or you start to feel like you're going in circles, right? You come back to that structure and regroup.

And so yeah, I don't think structure should constrain creativity. One thing that Carolina talks about is is with art, think of the structure as the canvas, right? And then on that blank white space, there are natural boundaries, but then you can do whatever you want within that. (Rambled with wisprflow)
